I attended the week-long Mediation for Peace program and feel like I experienced not just a full reset but an upgrade. I enjoyed every bit of my time there, though it took a couple of days to drop into the flow of the Ashram. The staff and teachers are all welcoming and knowledgeable. I met wonderful people amongst the various guests. The food was delicious and more than enough--yes, even though there were only 2 meals. I honestly feel that I've found practices that will sustain and nourish me for the rest of my life. The visit was so transformative that I'm returning with my partner in August for another week long program in August.
Beautiful ashram run by kind, lovely people. Perfect setting to reconnect with your spirituality and yoga practice. Lots of time to explore the woods, hang out in the sauna and tend to their gorgeous garden (shout out to Sita Ram and Caitlin!). Fresh and delicious vegetarian meals to nourish you throughout. I went for the residential program (minimum two-week stay) which they're offering now until Spring 2021. This place is a gem and I couldn't recommend it more!
Needed a yoga retreat and this is where I went. They have an all day schedule from 6am Satsang (meditation) to their morning yoga class, lunch, break, karma yoga, yoga class, dinner, another Satsang chant, and on their website they have different events going on. The instructors were very attentive and so professional and passionate. I really enjoyed the class. This is an ashram, which was beautiful to experience. They had a night chanting class, which I enjoyed as a musician. The lady taught me how to pronounce Sanskrit words while she sang and played the harmonium. They have a lovely library with a nice selection of books. I slept in a dorm by myself in February. They also had a sauna that I tried out. I went during the winter so it was nice to have a hot space to relax and also met people from overseas too! The nature is beautiful and peaceful.
Om Namah Shivaya, I feel a need to share this special information because I believe that the energy we cultivate is very transforming. I wanted to thank the Karma Yogis at Sivananda for the healing you cultivate in your practices, making the world a more peaceful, accepting place. While I struggle to keep my practice healthy while away from the ashram, it is a source of strength to know that you are there, working individually and collectively, sending ripples out into the universe that breathe love into so many souls!! Thank you for blessing me with shanti, shanti, shanti -the suffering is real, as is the effort to remove the obstacles!
What an incredible, life changing and memorable experience. I brought so much back with me. The classes and programs are lead by amazing, experienced, patient and warm people. The grounds are wonderful as are the views. I enjoyed the sauna on a cool, rainy day going in and then standing in the rain. Fantastic. The accommodations are simple and clean. I had an apartment with private bath. The prices are more than reasonable and in fact an incredible value. A packed library is full of every book on the related topics you can imagine. A reflection pond and greenhouses complete the fantasy. And the food! All organic and much farm to table. Every bite to be savored. The Chef honored me by letting me assist and create with her. I was humbled. I cannot wait to return.
