Very nice place to "step back in time at"
The fort is a recreation with an enthusiastic and largely volunteer staff. On any given day you might see a demonstration of a 17th-century mortar being fired, or blacksmithing, or weaving, or spinning. Even the colonial-era kitchen garden is interesting. Well worth a visit.
Fun and Educational, this place is amazing. Highly recommend it as a place to visit if you are traveling by. Plan to be there at least 2 hours.
They actually give you a guided tour with lots of historical facts and full of knowledge! My 13 year old son was fascinated with the information and the staff was all so friendly. They are all dressed in character and even though him how to play the games children played in the Colonial times.
Definitely worth the time and money to go there.
Wonderful experience. Showed the progression of life through colonial times.
Great staff!
Nice place and very very nice staff. I don't remember her name, but the woman in the "kitchen garden" was so sweet and informative! All the guides and staff were very kind and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it.
