The folks at Dry Brook are great. My parents are visiting Dorset, VT for the first time and wanted to see a sugar shack in operation. After calling around, many places weren’t producing right now, or if they are they told us to come in a week or two during Maple Weekend. When I called, I was told much the same — they weren’t boiling at the time, and might not until later in the day because they needed more sap — but told me to absolutely bring my parents and they’d get a personal tour.
We showed up around 6pm on a Sunday, and were greeted with open arms. They weren’t open to the public at the time (that would be the next two weekends) but gave us a tour and answered all of our questions anyway. My parents were impressed by their hospitality and openness to discuss their craft and made us all fans of Dry Brook maple.
Maple Syrup products made right there, do a tour during the sap season is a great family event and supports the local farm. Outside smells just like maple when they are "boiling off" fun experience with friendly people
The pancake breakfast, complete with maple syrup produced in-house, was delicious. The staff were friendly and informative. The horse-drawn wagon ride was a very nice bonus. We had a wonderful experience!
Hey folks,
Just wanted you all to know that my wife, myself, and 1 year old grandson were there yesterday 3/29/2015 for pancakes, carriage ride and to enjoy that beautiful farm. A great experience!!! We will be back!
Sincerely,
