Croton Karate

My daughter has been going to Croton Karate for over 8 years now. She has learned many positive things, including discipline, awareness of her environment, self-confidence, the importance of listening and of helping others- just to name a few. Her karate experience lends itself to her other sports and schooling, especially regarding reaction time & focus, respectively. She has worked hard to earn her rank. I am very proud of her & grateful to Sensei Peter Doherty. He has always been there for both my child & myself when my daughter needed extra guidance. I am also appreciative of the fact that Croton Karate is like a big family whose members both learn from & support one another.

I have two boys in Croton Karate and I am very impressed with the program. Sensei Doherty is both sensitive and tough, and he provides unique challenges for his students, particularly in terms of self-discipline and pushing one’s own limits. I find my kids come away with a better sense of self-worth, patience and respect of others as well as the physical benefits of practicing a martial art. Thanks, Sensei!

Highly recommended. My son started at Croton Karate with a lack of focus and impulse control issues. Sensei Doherty has been firm but compassionate, encouraging and inclusive. Everyone wanna their rank, and the older kids help teach the younger ones. We have been part of the dojo for nearly three years, and plan to be for years to come.

Our son has been going to Croton Karate for over 2 years now. It's been a great experience for him. Sensei Pete is a great teacher and mentor to the children. He is clear in his instructions and his expectations. I never practiced Karate and I see that it is much more than just the technical discipline. The kids are taught to listen, practice, focus, work hard and have fun. The discipline is a very positive contribution to our son's development. We highly recommend this place.

Sensei Doherty is great with the children and a great teacher. He got both my sons into karate. They have learned from, discipline and respect at croton Karate. They have cultivated an incredible self confidence through the training the have done there. I have been to several karate schools and croton karate is at a much higher level than anything I've seen thanks to the kindness, compassion and dedication of Sensei Doherty.
