My son wanted to try this martial art, so I took him to Family Class for a few months, which was a great experience, and then I became hooked, and am now in my second year. I had never done any martial arts before and was nervous about "being a beginner", but the students and teachers are talented and helpful and the atmosphere is one of comraderie, with a strong emphasis on safety and personal development. If you're thinking of giving it a try, stop thinking about it, and come join us for a class or two!

Great Sensei and lineage. It's a fun, friendly environment, with students who laugh a lot but take the practice seriously. Classes work on external and internal movement. The practice is honest, so you know when a technique is actually working.

I’ve found my four-year experience as a student at AASBK to be empowering and amazing. I've learned to move confidently in aikido, without excess muscle tension. This practice not only helps me in martial arts, but in every other activity in my life. Walking through the door of AASBK is one of the best things I’ve done for myself.

Mark Abrams, Sensei is an outstanding instructor. I came to the dojo with 20 years experience in another style and felt like a beginner again. Abrams sensei teaches the principles that make the techniques work. I highly recommend him, and the dojo to anyone. There are many martial arts schools out there but there are few of this quality. Don't take my word for it, come and see for yourself.

I came to the dojo in February and to be honest I didn't know what to expect. After sitting in and watching a class, I decided to give it a try and since then I have never looked back.

Abrams Sensei is an outstanding teacher; this goes without saying. But the bigger point about AASBK is that the other advanced students are also teachers. Everyone is always willing to help a 'newbie' like myself work on some difficult technique or other, whether during class or even outside. Anyone who is preparing to take a promotion exam need only post a request for some training partners on the blog, and you are guaranteed to have several offers of help before the end of the day.

It is this combination of teachers and students all working together to ensure everyone gets the absolute most out of their training experience that has convinced me this is the place I want to be. I searched far and wide around the tri-state area for a traditional Aikido dojo and in the end, there really was no competition.
