“I started going to GBDC in nursery and stayed until I aged out of the camp. My most formative years were spent here; I owe GBDC everything and I would not be who I am today without my 7+ years at this beautiful camp!”

“I wish I had unlimited space to rave about Camp Monroe! My 12 year old son attends the camp and it is truly a magical place for him. He loves the sports. He gets so much positive feedback and words of encouragement. He feels like a winner in both the activities he participates in and the values he receives. It is at Camp Monroe where both his Judaic and moral compass gets reinforced if not elevated. He would spend all year at camp if he could. ”

“Great place for kids. I went here as a child for Pre-K and camp. I became a youth counselor for the after school program. Before you knew it I placed my son in their programs.”

“My kids are finishing up 6 weeks of summer camp and had a great time! They saw old friends, made a lot of new friends, played sports, made crafts, and learned how to swim. I was impressed with the quality of swim lessons and my kids seemed to learn a lot from these lessons. The camp group pictures were also a great keepsake. I did have 1 minor concern, and the director addressed the issue swiftly and to my satisfaction. My kids looked forward to camp each day and overall had a very positive experience!”

“I worked here in the summer of 2018 and I think the most memorable thing was meeting such great people. As part of the media team, I got to learn the stories of so many people, both campers and employees, who have treasured their experiences at DMDC since they were a child. The generations of campers and employees, and especially the camp owners who took over for their parents, is evident of just how much this camp has affected the lives of so many. On the last day of camp, so many teen campers were in tears at the thought of their last summer at DMDC coming to an end. Everyone at the camp really tries to make it such a genuine experience for the campers. I was also impressed at the immense talent in the staff, specifically the sports staff, who had a rich background in whatever sport they taught.”
