“The owner and head stylist, Brenda is top notch. I’m 44 and probably have gone through at last 3 dozen hairstylists in my life but there’s no comparison to Brenda. She takes her time paying attention to you when you explain what you want and she knows EXACTLY what needs to be done. A full service stylist, Kris colors, cuts, perms, and offers hot lather shaves. I travel 40 minutes for those hot lather shaves. They're a guilty pleasure. Mid City Cutters has been servicing all ages for years. Bring the family, or treat yourself to a little pampering. The parking is free and so is the conversation. “TLDR: Great shop, friendly staff, and fantastic price for the area ($20 for students, $27 regular). Definitely going back, and would definitely reccomend. Just stopped in after a day of classes to get a much needed cut (shaved sides and 3-5'' scissors on top). The shop was empty when I walked in, and I was welcomed and served immediately. Told him what I wanted and he went at it, having me check throughout the process to make sure I was happy with what he was doing. He even offered me and the other client waiting a beer/shot (included in the price of the cut) which is always nice. We engaged in small talk and he finished up with a hot foam shave. Overall this was a great find in the Clinton Hill / Fort Green area and you CANT beat the PRICE! Especially for students! Many other shops charge 35-55 for essentially the same cut. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a great barber experience!”
