Went for their quilt show with my wife. Beautiful quilts on display, and several vendors
They have excellent train sets, they're worth a stop in if you live in the area or are passing through. EDIT: owner has informed me that I am referring to the Mebane Train Display, which is in a nearby building.
If you like trains, this should be on your list. Set up to represent the earlier days of Mebane, the model has a bunch of tracks, numerous trains running and very detailed surroundings. Do not miss the Christmas tree decorated seasonally with two working trains running under and through the tree. Make note when you're there that this was one man's collection that he willed to the city when he crossed into the clearing. Very fun trip
We came here to check out the train display. My children loved looking at all of trains going around and pushing the buttons to make things move! There are several different rooms full of trains to look at. There's a large tree with tracks going up and down in it! There's even a train going around the ceiling!
Right outside of the train museum, there was a nice playground that was fenced in! My only complaint is that there's no sign directly in front of the building and where we parked, we couldn't see the train signs. We went into the historical museum and when asked about the trains, we were rudely informed that we were in the wrong area. I had never heard of this historical museum before, but after encountering this rude staff member, I can see why people might not want to recommend it to others.
Cute and well maintained. Some interesting stuff can be found here about Mebane and the surrounding area.
