Last minute trip was pretty successful. Of course we came in the rain. Nice campground. Fishing was fun, the kids loved the pedal bikes. Bugs are bad there but bug spray helped. There was a huge ant pile right at our site with tons of ants. Because it rained friday they didnt put jumping pad up all weekend. The staff was extremely helpful and super nice. Bathrooms were always cleaned. Water pressure is good at your site. Very beautiful!!!
*One of our "Go-to" campgrounds*
Great campground. Somewhat challenging to get to if you have a big rig, but it is manageable. It can get windy there sometimes, so be mindful of doors or tents. They always have a themed weekend. And you can't beat their 30% discount to rebook before you leave. They added free boat rentals and a shuttle to local attractions. There is no pool, but the kids love swimming in the bay. This is one of our go to campgrounds.
Every staff member we encountered was very helpful and courteous. We were fortunate enough to be able to move from one of the campers to one of the cottages. The trailers are just too small for our comfort which included 4 people. We're excited about the water taxi that's coming soon. The only issue we had that was cured by moving into one of the cottages was the cleanliness of the campground bathhouse. I encourage you to focus more attention on the bathhouse. Other than that it was a very pleasant and relaxing vacation.
Thank You!
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The guy that led us to our site was the best! He let us meet his dog, Oakley, and told us how the pandemic resulted in them losing their water taxi to Currituck Island. The sites do not have a lot of room between each camper but our site had a large grassy spot between our camper and the water. Beautiful place. Bathhouse are clean, private, and spacious. The grounds are clean and the camp store is nice.
Staff are genuinely friendly. Plenty to do here and the landscape is picture perfect. Some of the newbies need to know of campground etiquette, but that is not the fault of the campground. The sound is about waist deep or so, for as long as you can see. This is the largest swimming hole and very clean. Perfect campground to take the family.
