The guides/hosts were knowledgeable and passionate about the preservation of this piece of NC history.
Great history about the African American community in Jarvisburg. Really enjoyed touring the museum. Our tour guide Mr. Leon was great. He was knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with.
Great restoration and history documentation. The testimonial videos are a great touch. We also learned about the African American Experience of Northeast North Carolina project. As an added bonus we found the graveside of one of my husband's heros thanks to Christian, the guide. Great experience!
There's also a cemetery in the back with names related to business names through out the town to this day. Nice place to visit. Especially if you love historic sites!
This was very interesting to learn about a school that was for African Americans. A lot of history in a small building.
