“Great selection of different gems, there were definitely more gemstones than glass but still a rather good selection, with more than just gems and glass with some fossils, jewelry, and more unique items. As far as prices go (I'm not an expert on these prices) but they seemed rather fair, there were very few items I thought overpriced and lots of stuff was a tad bit on the cheaper side in fact. Loved the unique item selection and amount of stuff in the store.”

“Huge selection on two floors of kites, games, puzzles, toys, shirts, hoodies, shorts, swimwear, sun glasses, beach stuff, dog accessories etc. Lots of Life is Good clothes and accessories. They sell YETI, Columbia, Oakley, Sun Bum, Puppy Love, Salt Life, Rip Curl, O’Neil, Volcom and more. It’s wall to wall merchandise but it’s higher quality than similar products found at Wings. Definitely a cool spot in Corolla!”

I have feet that change in size and she was so patient helping me try different shoes and recommended what might work for me. My husband thought we overpaid but I checked what they were priced elsewhere and it was the same price. I hope the owner of this place recognizes how good she is. I would’ve walked out of there without buying anything if it wasn’t for her helping me fit the shoes.”

“My wife and I were on vacation in the outer banks and I’ve been wanting to get better kite line for my big octopus kite. Kitty Hawk didn’t have want I wanted so we stumbled across Flying Smiles, and man am I glad we did. Elliot is an awesome guy. He taught my wife and me so much more in 15 minutes of talking with him than we had in the almost 2 years we have been flying kites. Elliot got me set up with this 500# line for my octopus that has never flown as good as it did with the new heavier line. I hate we live so far away from Flying Smiles, but we will definitely be ordering from their online store!”

“Absolutely the best climbing adventure around! During our vacation to Corolla, we decided to take on this challenge. And that it was… 4 layers of climbing up, around and through obstacles that increased in difficulty will wear you out! The staff members were extremely knowledgeable, happy and helpful. The challenge is - how far can you go? Be prepared to be tired. They do offer light snacks, ice cream and local beers too. The entire course will take some time to finish because this isn’t your ordinary climbing place! Take the challenge, you won’t regret it. Their pricing of photos and merch is very reasonable. I promise you’ll love this adventure.”

“I love this place so much! I happened upon it exploring Corolla’s charming historic village and I’m so glad I did! This is not your typical touristy souvenir shop. The owners, Karen and John, are lifelong residents of the Outer Banks and they are A RIOT. I loved talking to them and I LOVED every item in their shop. So much that this is the third time in three days I visited them. Go there for the adorable clothing and eclectic decor, and stay awhile to enjoy conversation with the delightful shopkeepers!”

“The kind cup is by far one of the cutest coffee shops I’ve been to. The art selection only added to this adorable atmosphere and many ceramic pieces could make wonderful gifts. The coffee itself was very good. I personally got a lavender honey latte and, unlike many coffee shops, it had strong delicious flavor. However the shop is a bit cramped and as many people come in to get a cup it is not for the claustrophobic type. It is also a bit nerve racking feeling like a wrong move could accidentally knock into and destroy art pieces on display. But despite this fact, the coffee shop has a wonderful, beautiful outdoor area. There are beautiful flowers growing outside and, as you sit outside on the patio, you can see a beautiful landscape in front of you.”
