When I came here in 2015 it was a beginning of a new chapter of my life. It was to become successful and that anything is possible that is if you put your mind to it. When I came here the plan was to send me back home after i discharge but my parents made it clear that they did not want me back in the house EVER again. So once i realized that there was no way I was going to go back home ever again I decided to give up on life. I did not do anything I was told, I lied, I was disrespectful, and the whole nine yards. When summer came we went to a summer camp everyday(Monday-Friday) One of the staff would always tell me not to hang around these two other patients because whenever I did I would always get into trouble with them. One of the other patients stole an electronic from one of the kids at the camp. The staff didn't know who did it so they started to question me and the two other patients. The two other patients would keep making up these lies saying that I did it and what I did with it. I got very overwhelmed and decided to take the blame for it which one of the worst decisions I ever made in my life. The day I took the blame for it was also the day that I realized that That one staff was right about these two patients. He also said that when it comes to a time like this, those who you think are your friends are really the ones that will do whatever they can to get you into trouble and make others think that it was you when it wasn't. At that age I was at I could go to a juvenile center and then send me to jail after I turn 16. Luckily the mother of the child didn't press charges on me. So I decided from this day on I will turn my life around. months later they found it wasn't me. But they told me that no matter hjow small it is DON'T take the blame. When the school year came the school they were going to send me didn't want to accept me because my past. That was one of many things that motivated me to change my life around so I was home schooled. I made amazing grades and they decided to let me in the school a couple days a week for a couple hours. I always made a 80 or above on all my assignments I did so well I got an extra credit and note that is was the beginning of my freshman year in high school. So they let me come in all week long. By Thanksgiving of that year the staff convinced my parents to let me spend Thanksgiving with them.when they saw me for the first time in a year and a half(I went to a treatment center before the group home and came straight here I didn't go back home) they saw a difference in me. So they called the Group home owner and told him that they would like me to stay the night. Let me take a step back real quick. I have a little brother named Liam when I left the house to go to the treatment center he was 3yo so when i came home to visit on thanksgiving he looked at me then at my parents he said,"mom who is that?" They told him that I was his brother and he said" I have a brother?" Like I said before that this is another of many reasons why I was motivated to change my life around. My brother didn't know me! I went home for Christmas a month later then two months later I went home for good. I was supposed to go somewhere after the group home. But my parents wanted me to come home. Although I can hear them say this now, don't thank me thank yourself you got yourself home not us. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
