Stephenson's Bar-B-Q

Good pork BBQ & excellent hushpuppies. Our daughter enjoyed the chicken tenders & fries (& hushpuppies of course). The spiced apples are especially delicious. My husband enjoyed the collards. Very casual place which is what I prefer. My only real complaint would be the Styrofoam plates bc they're not very good for the environment. Otherwise, everything was great. Good service, good prices, good food!

My dad and I travel around North Carolina checking out different BBQ spots. Stephenson's is great. I had the Large Pig with slaw and french fries, the BBQ is clean and has an amazing flavor. The french fries could have been a little more crisp. My Dad had the BBQ and Brunswick Stew combo, He said that he really enjoyed the stew. Also their hush puppies were some of the best we have had. If you are in the area you should definitely give them a try.

My husband and I visited for the first time tonight. The line of cars waiting for takeout along with the packed parking lot had us hoping we made a good choice.

This is a casual family restaurant, we seated ourselves and we were lucky enough to meet Elizabeth (our server). When she found out it was our first time, she grabbed us our drinks (cans of soda), explained that the pitcher on the table was sweet tea (this is the South after all), and brought us a basket of perfect hushpuppies. We were debating what to order and Elizabeth brought us a sample of the chicken, a boiled potato and the best coleslaw this reviewer has ever had! We both ended up with the pork and chicken combo and fries. My husband got the coleslaw and I had the green beans and we shared a second basket of hushpuppies. So much food!

Elizabeth made this experience even better than we expected. We felt welcomed and comfortable and we look forward to visiting again! Check out this place if you are in the area! You will not be disappointed!!

(But you should save room for the banana pudding...we will next time!)

I order the pork and chicken combo and it was delicious, great flavor, the chicken was super juicy and tender, they offer rolls and hush puppies, both are great, you don't need any bbq sauce to enjoy the meal. The beans are good and the corn is sweet. I have baked apples and banana pudding, personally I loved the apples, the pudding need more balance in the cookies-pudding ratio.
POSTED: if you want fried chicken it takes 25 to 30 min to cook but you can order ahead and it will be ready for you.

Stephenson's Bar-B-Q is amazing. This is true North Carolina style bbq and I always have to make a trip when I'm out here. We got the hush puppies, chopped pork, bbq chicken and fried chicken for the main protein, and sides included green beans, spiced apples, baked beans, fresh fried okra, Brunswick stew, and boiled seasoned potatoes.

All served with unlimited sweet tea (not pictured) and authentic vinegar based bbq sauce 🤤.

Staff is so nice and restaurant is clean. Go support this amazing place if you live BBQ!
