We found Carolina Wine Merchants by chance at their former location and had a wonderful time (and fell in love with a wine that we now order from Jake by the case). When they moved downtown we were so excited to check out their new location and it did not disappoint. Joy lived up to her name and we're looking forward to making the Wine Bar part of a regular date night. (Getting to catch up with Jake as well was fabulous.)

I've known Carolina Wine Merchant and its owner Jake for around four years now. In that time I've seen a hundred + people of all types walk into the shop. He treats every person with respect when they walk in the door. His selection is unparalleled in the area, and he has decades of experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves fine old world wine.

We went to the Saturday wine tasting and had a wonderful experience. It completely changed my perspective and was very educational. Great tasting wine paired with appetizers and conversations with the owner. Mr. Jacobs was delightful and accommodating. Can’t wait to go again!
