Giant Penny

Giant Penny is a nice grocery store with a lot of reasonable products. It has a lot of items but not huge variety. It's not too pricey compared to its neighbors.

I’m from the rural/country parts of NC and I had been looking for stores that carried items that I could easily find at grocery stores back home. Most of the big chain grocers just don’t carry certain things. People had been recommending Giant Penny and I finally went. So glad I did! They have almost all of the items I’m used to seeing back home. The prices are reasonable, meats look fresh and high quality. The produce looked pretty good too.

The store is obviously in an older building and it has that old building smell, but it definitely doesn’t stink. The store is neat and clean. You won’t find tons of a variety of items, but they do have all the staples and, like I said, many of foods I’m used to seeing at the rural/country grocers. Staff is friendly. It is definitely going to be a regular stop for me now.

The best meat selection in town. I drive from Concord just to get their meats. This place is truly a landmark in the community. I hope it stays around for more years to come.
