So helpful! If this is your first time to Uwharrie you should certainly stop here and they will answer any question that you have. Really really nice people working here.

I traveled with my son from Concord NC out to the Troy Ranger Station to apply for the National Parks Access Pass(I'm a Disabled Veteran). We also purchased 2 Anual Shooting Range Permits.

The Uniformed Ranger at the front desk as well as the woman in one of the side offices were very helpful and informative when we started asking questions. They both were able to get my son & I squared away with the Access Pass & both Shooting Permits within a few minutes.

I just want to say again that both women were very friendly and professional. It's nice to be greeted by friendly/knowledgeable faces. You can immediately tell that both ladies enjoy their jobs in assisting visitors with Uwharrie National Forest. They deserve 10 Stars for the easy process and for making us feel welcome.

USFS has done a great job at the Troy, NC Location. Wonderful staff to assist you with questions and permits related to the Uwharrie National Forest. This is a must stop when traveling to and enjoying the vast opportunities of our beloved forest. Checknout the hiking trail located immediately behind the Ranger's Office. The main office is located in Montgomery County off NC Hwy 24/27 just before Troy City limits. Enjoy!
