We were here for a piano recital, it is one of the prettiest little churches I've ever been in!
I've never attended a more progressive, caring church. The laity are as involved as the busy vicars. Want a chance to serve humanity and feel served by others? This is the "home" for you.
"Advocate.. be the noun, do the verb." That's our church t-shirt and it says a lot about who we are. Sweet little church, loving community, commitment to our neighbors regardless of their faith orientation. Very welcoming. Check us out!
While I've not been involved with the Church of the Advocate during Sunday services, I have worked closely with Lisa and many other church members on various landscape and native plant installations throughout the church property. Everyone has been fun to work with and easy-going and I've been amazed at their dedication to volunteer work.
The turnout was impressive on each of the past volunteer days and the fellowship and hospitality warm. You can really see how well the church members work together and get along amiably. I'm looking forward to continuing my relationship with the Church of the Advocate. Five stars!
The Advocate is a good faith community. I've been a member for over a decade and have seen our community grow and change, but the core values of compassion, justice, and transformation have remained constant. We aren't perfect and certainly fumble, but I've seen deep commitment to figuring hard things out together. The liturgy is beautiful, and the fellowship is edifying. As far as fallible human institutions go, I can recommend this one. :)
