“Dr. Kulits has been my Ophthalmologist since 2021. I chose him when my Ophthalmologist retired during Covid. I was told I had to go to a practice in Winston-Salem. He is the only local Ophthalmologist residing and practicing in Stokes and Surry Counties. He does my Diabetic & Comprehensive Medical Eye Exam each year, testing for Cataracts, Glaucoma and everything Diabetics should be aware of. He has advised me how to improve my blood sugar control and protect my eyesight with proper nutrition from regular foods. He’s helped me with dry eyes, and puffiness of my eyelids. He is always considerate and kind to me and I’ve heard him interact the same way with patients 40 years younger than me and 20 years older than me. Yes, he does take our insurance. Yes, every procedure is done here in King. This is my 3rd year seeing him with no change needed to my prescriptions. I’m thankful for Dr. Kulits and his practice here in King.”

She isn't pushy, she discusses with me what she feels is the best route to take, telling me both the pros and cons, then let's me decide what I feel is best for my body which is rare these days. “I trained with Sensei Steven several years ago before I moved out of state. After checking out the other martial arts school that were in town (if you want to call it that) where the instructor had his students self promote him I found Sensei Steven. I must say he has the most extensive martial arts background and experience, far beyond anyone or martial art school in the area. He has the history and documentation to prove he is what he says he is as well as the winnings from tournament competition that both he and his students have achieved. When I visited the other martial arts school he would not show me any of his background and deflect the conversation, that was red flag for me. Sensei Steven answered all my questions and showed me his past instructors and training. This dojo is the only traditional karate school in King. You will not find a better one in the area. It may be small and that is to the advantage of the student in that you get personal instruction from Sensei Steven himself, not some child or teen teaching you as I saw in comparison with the other one in town. That's what I like about Sensei Steven, was the personal instruction and correction. His standards are high and he expects you to earn your belt, that you will if you put in the effort. If you want quality and professional instruction this is the dojo to train at.”

So far I've only needed to see him twice each year and our interaction has been minimal but he's very nice and easy to talk to. My wife and kids come here as well.
