North Carolina Welcome Center

It sure feels great to cross into North Carolina! The Welcome Center is just a taste of how well most of North Carolina is taken care of. If you spent any time in Virginia, you will be sooo happy to have your feet on Carolina ground. The place is clean, well kept grounds, plenty of parking and space to walk your dogs or just chill for a bit, especially if you have an RV

Super nice visitor center. Two very lovely ladies working the desk the day I went in. This rather large visitor center is loaded with information, and it is very well organized by the region and by what type of activities you are interested in; such as fishing, hiking, etc.

The rest rooms are very large and they were clean.

The parking lot for the big rigs is down the hill from the visitor center, and it is quite a hike up to the top of the hill to the center.

At the top of the hill is parking for cars, but there are also a few spots there for RVs. The entrance signs were not clear on this (or, at least, I didn't see them maybe).

By all means, check this place out if you are going to be spending any time in North Carolina.

This is a very nice rest room quick stop.
The outside has a very well manicured lawn for this time of the year (Summer), very pleasant to see.
The women’s bathroom is clean and well-stocked.
One side of the parking lot has a stairwell, the other side it is right off the parking onto the sidewalk. Much better entrance for the elderly who can climb stairs very well.

We love that they have a parking lot for cars/trucks with trailers separated from tractor-trailers and cars. We had lunch on a clean picnic table among beautiful day lilies. Bathrooms were very clean.

Nice Welcome Center in a beautiful spot. Plenty of area to stretch your legs, also has covered picnic tables. Plenty of info for things to do in North Carolina. Restrooms were nice and clean, staff was helpful and polite.
