Great hike. Be careful crossing the three creeks. Lots to explore!
Nice place for hiking, not too many people to compete with. You can drive into the Bean Shoals area but have to cross water three times to drive to the end. If you don't have 4WD I recommend not chancing it after heavy rains. There's a nice 3 mile round trip hike/ walk to the river. This time the river was really high and muddy due to heavy rains, but it's worth the effort no matter what the conditions.
Very interesting place. Creek crossing by car. Made anew friend in the picture.
What a great trail! It is well maintained and wide enough to run side by side. Fun experience and appropriate for walking, hiking, running & horseback riding.
Great little river section of Pilot Mountain Park that is less known and a little less travelled. One of the cool things about it is that you have to turn onto a gravel road off of the State road and Cross three Creeks and continue driving through the woods before reaching the first section. The first section has a bathroom (pit), grills and trail access. If you continue on you'll wind up at the river access. Absolutely beautiful views of both the woods and the Yadkin river. You can camp there as well but need the permit.
