This is MY COMMUNITY. MY community store. I could go to Roughedge, Kangaroo or even into town. I tend to stay closer to home and give my business to my community when possible. Bill and his wife Bette Kinghave nothing but good things. On a 7 day week average, I usually visit this store about 4 days if not more. I'm not a very well known person in my community, we all seem to live a little bit apart as neighbors. I do know that many people visit this store. They purchase anything from a soda to buying some of their groceries. The Kings' also have a very neighborly set-up inside & outside their store. You can set at an inside table for lunch from their deli or have a seat outside & play a game of checkers on an outdoor picnic table while having ice cream. The Kings' Country store & deli is what you may call an old fashioned Mayberry RFD-type Community gathering place. Kind of like Floyd's Barber Shop. A good old throw-back in time. Very friendly & a great place to lean back, kick your feet up & stay a lil' while. A good place to meet some neighbors you never knew you had. There's always a few local farmers talking shop. Maybe a few fishermen & quite possibly a few "fishers of men". It's a place you can go & don't have to spend a penny to get anything. Seems there's usually something going on. If, you hang around a short time, you'll more than likely find a good conversation or a good joke to get into. Wholesome family talks & jokes too. Everyone there is & always have been nothing but friendly, extremely nice, helpful & in a couple have gone way overboard to be helpful. Not just to me but, to every customer I've been privy to hear & see. If I go there for something special & they just don't have it, they have been helpful enough to inform me of something else that they do have & works equally as well.I do give high marks to this community store & deli. I love it & I've made a few friends along the way. Like any good neighbors, they're always there when you really need 'em. You can even attain Christian books to lend. You don't find that just anywhere. You may even wish to donate some of your books to share. The store is simply a small but tight community store, where anyone can go to simply flee the rat race for a bit. I invite you to try it & go there a few times, then make your own decision & write your experience here too. Oh yeah, when they learn your name, your face, then you're no longer a stranger. Hope to see you there soon! Ya'll come.
