“My family moved from Los Angeles, CA to Raleigh, NC. We rented one (8x16) container. Here was our experience: Pros: Customer service was exceptional every step of the way through this process. We were probably very difficult customers because after making our reservations and setting up all of our delivery/pick up dates, we had a death in the family and had to change everything at the last minute. We never had any challenges with making the changes and every time our unit arrived when scheduled. Every customer service rep we spoke to was polite and helpful along the way. We actually had the unit delivered to our CA house, then sent to local storage in CA, then delivered back to our CA house, then transported cross country, then sent to storage in our new state NC, then delivered to our new NC house and final destination-WOW we were complicated!! Pricing was reasonable. Moving is expensive no matter what. I did my research and they weren't the cheapest, but I had two other friends use this company in 2020 for cross country moves and I knew that they were priced fair and the service justified the pricing too. Cross-country Delivery. We were given a 7-10 business day delivery window for the unit. I called on the 6th business day just to get an updated of when they expected to arrive and turned out they were arriving that very day! We were thrilled to have access to our belongings even earlier than planned. I do feel that many of the scheduling complaints I read could have been avoided. Moving is a logistical challenge and I think it's my responsibility to double check each step along the way. I always confirmed with the company at least 48 hours before the pick-up, I triple checked the schedule for the cross country trip and I called the before day of expected arrival. By taking that initiative, I was always confident that everything was going according to plan and the company met our expectations 100% of the time. Cons: Weight Limits: this is one area that is really unclear during the sales process and could potentially result in expensive changes needing to be made. The unit itself when empty is 2,000lbs. You are allowed to add an additional 6,000 lbs into the unit to reach a total of 8,000lbs. If you exceed that amount the first issue is that the companies trucks can't safely lift the unit onto their flatbeds. That puts the driver and your possessions at risk. Secondly, if the truck is able to lift your unit, there will be additional weight fees associated. Keep in mind the company will ultimately have to pay fees themselves for carrying the additional weight when they go through mandatory weigh stations along the highways so it's fair that the cost gets past along to us the customer. The biggest challenge is that there is simply no way of knowing how heavy your unit is until it's being lifted. There is actually a scale on the back of the truck, so feel free to ask to see the actual weight when raised. Best way to guestimate is the sales person describes the unit holding a standard amount of space and then they breakdown what should be able to fit. Don't jam pack your unit with heavy furniture then act surprised when it weighs over. Overall I would definitely recommend this company and use them again! Good luck”
