We stopped here for about an hour to eat dinner while traveling. The little time we were here it was very nice. Clean park with opportunity for multiple activities. Our son very much enjoyed the playground area and I was able to walk my dog to use the bathroom.
Review of Trail only: Great moderate trail. Starting from Honeycutt Park it's paved (asphalt). After crossing Durant Rd., it is unpaved, but very clearly marked or cleared. Main hazard is roots, a few rocks. Follows a good size creek much of the way. Wooded, shaded all the way once the trail is unpaved. Includes several well-built bridges. All but 1 elevation changes are gradual. I walked it (round-trip) alone in 1:40 on a July Saturday morning. I passed 4-5 people or couples, some with a dog. Would be a good trail for running IMO.
Super cool playground! My son always enjoys playing here abs running all around in between the two playgrounds. The main playground has that awesome triple slide that a few other playgrounds have. Has a half dozen different creative ways to climb up to the higher level. There’s a picnic shelter, sand beach volleyball court, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a paved trail through the woods. Really enjoyable park!
Most playgrounds have drainage issues, not Honeycutt! Always clean, always friendly families. There's also a baseball field and free field to play in. Plus, it's right on a great Greenway trail. Doesn't go very far but it's beautiful
This park is so fun! 2 different structures, one for younger and one for older. There is lot of space to run around and get some energy out. It seems to be a hidden gem, because there have been very few people there when we have gone. (I haven't been during the summer, though) The bathroom facilities are great, and they have trash recepticals with different recycling options.
