Southern Dental Arts

I cannot recommend Southern Dental Arts enough! I have severe anxiety and put off going to the dentist for way too long. After seeing excellent recommendations for Dr. Staehling and his staff, I finally made an appointment. I’m so glad I did. Dr. Staehling, Lynn, Mary, and everyone else I’ve interacted with at Southern Dental Arts has treated me so well and with absolute kindness and respect. If you have a lot of anxiety, or even if you don’t, I highly recommend you choose Southern Dental Arts.

I have had a hard time finding a good dentist. I had the same dentist for the first 30 years of my life until he retired. I never had any phobias until I had to find a new one. I went through 3 before I finally found Southern Dental Arts. I had almost given up hope of finding anyone. I had horrible experiences with gums bleeding after cleaning, an instrument breaking off inside a tooth they were putting a crown on that I had to see an oral surgeon to have removed, and very sore gums after each visit. I went for a year not seeing anyone because it tore my nerves up to go. Then one weekend I had a horrible toothache. Dr. Staehling took me on a Saturday and was able to fix it. I have been going ever since. He is always checking to make sure I'm okay and completely gets how anxious I am about going to the dentist. He always tells me to raise my finger if I need a break and is so patient and kind. My phobia is almost complete gone now thanks to him.

We used to live in the DC area and we had the most fantastic dentist there. When we moved to Raleigh over 15 years ago, we had a terrible time finding a good dentist. None of them compared to our DC dentist. Right when we thought we found a good one, something would happen and we would realize we needed to move on. We just couldn't find an office that was good at both billing and actual dentistry. People think they have good dentists, but you don't know if they are good until you have an actual emergency. I think we have been to Dr. Staehling enough to know that he is fantastic. He's patient. He's kind. He is really good at administering Novocaine (at least my child did not complain at all when it was needed for a tooth extraction)!! He's gentle. I appreciate his bedside manner.

Lynn runs a tight ship up front. I appreciate that because so many offices are run poorly. All of the staff is good. Very happy and thrilled our orthodontist recommended him.

Going to the dentist always raises my anxiety-so much so that I had avoided going for quite some time. I would become physically ill at the thought of having to see the dentist because prior experiences were always unpleasant and at times, down right traumatic. But a family member referred me to Dr. Staehling's office and my only complaint is that I didn't know about them sooner. Warm, compassionate, friendly, professional, thorough, and absolutely terrific with kids. My 8 year old couldn't stop talking about the visit and how nice Miss Jessica was. I am so grateful to have found Southern Dental Arts. My children and I look forward to being life long patients.

Great people and great service. I have been going here for about two years and have always been very satisfied. I am in the process of getting a bridge put in and they have more than met my expectations.

I also would highly recommend that you use their hygienist, the best I have ever had clean my teeth.
