Ray, Raymond and all the firemen at the Wendell fire department were amazing! They were so kind and helpful when we had an accident. You all are truly God’s hands and feet that minister peace and comfort!
Shortly before 3 pm on 3/14 men on foot and units and firemen of the Wendell Fire Department arrived to battle a leaf, grass fire in the woods at the rear of our property (2840 Praire View Point).
I never want to hear anyone denigrate these men for the swift action they took, running hoses and equipment to the rear of our property line bounded by a vacant field to the rear of the homes on Praire View Point.
Onlookers came to the door to ask if I knew that there was a fire at the boundary of our wooded area behind our yard …I had been working on writing a medical paper in the living room of our home when a young man came the door to ask if I knew there was a fire in the area behind a sand pile at the edge of a fence adjacent to a wooded area of dry leaf-covered ground that had somehow caught fire.
Quick action by the volunteers of WFD prevented a potential catastrophe from occurring by getting high pressure water from the hoses of their pumper onto the blaze which was rapidly squelched.
Much appreciation from this resident to them as I watched them methodically attack the fire and prevent it from spreading via the dry leaves to surrounding yards and homes. WELL DONE!! and God Bless You!-Dwight E, Cochran, DVM, MS
We had a fire start in the field when bailing hay this week. The Wendell Fire Department were on the scene quickly and they saved the day. Many thanks for everything that you did. What a great bunch of guys.
