WakeMed MyCare 365 Primary and Urgent Care - Zebulon

I can't speak on the urgent care side but for the primary side, I had great care from Dr. Theodore Derse earlier this week. I had a bad experience at the wake med in knightdale seeing Patrick Bruff, FNP and was almost done with wakemed but Dr. Derse sat down next to me and listened to my concerns without having the medical records there and was able to answer my questions about medications I considered using and giving me better solutions to help with my blood pressure. He was professional, personable and friendly. I didn't feel pressured to take anything and his recommendation worked.

My blood pressure went from 140s/90s to 112/70 and that was a reading today. I have also reduced my sodium intake and will work on walking to reduce my weight which he wasn't concerned about since I lost 6-7 from my last visit. No one is perfect and can't be expected to know everything in the healthcare field but all I was asking for was a provider to listen to my issues with
my health history and come up with a treatment plan that we both can agree on that is working! I will continue to see him for my primary needs!

I had some scary symptoms today and made an appointment to try to avoid the ER after my PCP was booked. The entire staff was so kind. I made an appointment online today and I was in and out within 45 minutes. The people at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. The medical assistant who took my vitals was caring and listened to me ramble as I tried to explain how I was feeling. The PA was phenomenal and made me feel like I was truly heard and was extremely knowledgeable. The medical assistant who took my blood work was kind and did a great job not hurting me with the needle. Overall great experience!
