Unfortunately the museum was closed due to Covid 19 shut downs. Hoping to return later in the year if we pass through the area again, the grounds are well kept and attractive. When open admission is a modest $3 per adult $2 for seniors kids under 12 $1 and free under 5
UPDATE 07/24/21 We went back and the house was open for tours, our tour guide was very friendly and well educated giving a great tour of the home.
The guide Chris and the property manager (forgot her name) are awesome. The amount of passion and info they have is so enlightening, entertaining and enriching. This stop had to have been the highlight of our trip. Who knew this small stop would have been so fun. What made it more special was visiting on July 3rd. Can't picture a better way to honor American history. Parking seems to be plenty, make sure to check out the rest stop across the way. Just be warned the actual stalls have no doors, its basically a glorified outhouse. Admission is $3 adult and $1 a child. Check it out, the house has a pretty unique history!
History up close & glad to have touched base here!
A great little piece of history in a beautiful location.
