University Farm holds a dear place in my heart. Participated in a summer coarse provided for teachers in Greater Cleveland by CWRU many years ago. I hope the facilities are still as pristine as they were back then. The ponds and creeks offered many opportunities for studying the interaction between the geology of the area and the unique freshwater amphibians and fish. Not to mention the microscopic organisms living in the ponds. It truly was an amazing experience for which I was forever grateful.
I had a great time wandering the farm and checking out the exhibits at the harvest festival. I'm a little sad that the mushroom cultivation workshop was canceled but I would enjoy visiting the farm again.
Beautiful produce for sale. Gorgeous scenery for walking.
Still closed to the general public because of the Corona lockdown. When it opens back up, it's a great place to hike. Make sure dogs are on a leash.
As a CWRU alum, I love that I can visit the farm to go hiking. It's always well-maintained and quiet. The trails offer a variety of environments - wooded, meadows, etc. I wish more students and alumni knew about and used the farm. It is truly a "hidden gem."
