(January 3, 2022, 8:37 am)So my daughter and I happened in on New Year's Eve day as we were down the street at the Witchcraft Museum. (yes, there is such a thing, right down the street). I was shocked to hear that the soup was Lobster Bisque. Lobster Bisque, at a local Mom and Pop restaurant in Old Brooklyn?. It gets better, it was only a $1? A DOLLAR FOR A CUP OF SOUP, LOBSTER BISQUE, NO LESS. So we get two bowls and it was GREAT. The service was fast and friendly: It took less than a minute for the lady that was bussing the tables to bus the table across from us as well as our table. My daughter had an openface roast beef that looked fantastic and was more than she could eat, and I had the tuna melt; delicious. I should also point out for reference that I have a background in food service as I helped manage a catering business for almost ten years, so I Know from whence I speak.
(March 10, 2020, 5:17 pm)The food was good, mostly. I expected the pecan pancakes to be better but they were not what I expected. Servers also kept asking if we want coffee after we've said no several times. It wasn't a bad experience but not the best. One of the servers or woman that seated us and cleaned tables was very nice.
(February 10, 2020, 6:11 pm)Good place full of locals and regulars. You get an old-fashioned plate of food for a great price and they are always glad to see you. They have a nice rotation of specials and desserts to keep things interesting along with the standby sandwiches and breakfasts.
(October 23, 2019, 7:39 pm)Fast service with attentive wait staff. Piping hot coffee, fresh delicious food; I ordered the standard breakfast meal with 2 eggs (basted), home fries, 4 sausage links, and wheat toast. Everything tasted great. The plate was not overloaded with food not was it shy on its offerings. The portion sizes were perfect.
I also really liked their homemade Halloween decorations.
