“I had to seek recovery counseling for both personal need and legal obligation. TKC did not only fulfill my court-mandated legal requirements while helping me on my path to sobriety, but did so in a way that enabled me to manage and maintain a healthy and productive life during the process. Some of the other programs I found in the area were structured in ways that would have made continuing employment and meeting the needs of my family an impossibility, while also adding additional stressors to my life, which was already in a state of great turmoil. The staff at TKC understands both sides of the recovery process, and knows what can facilitate and what can hinder moving beyond addiction. They work to provide the tools and support needed to move life away from dependency and in the direction of wellness without adding further stress and complications which can be detrimental to the recovery process. I don't know what I would've done had I not found TKC Turning Point. I am extremely grateful for Terry and staff. The environment they have created makes it easy to feel completely comfortable and be open, honest and transparent about yourself, the issues you are struggling with, and life in general, which is extremely important when working to understand and better yourself. They provide a strong sense of community and support which is very encouraging for any who find themselves on the road to recovery. I went in thinking "I'll just sit here as long as I have to", but left with an entirely new mindset, a sober lifestyle that is welcoming and long overdue, and the tools to maintain it. I am finally able to see and better understand the personal issues that were hiding behind my substance abuse, and can now address them with a clear and sober mind. As a result, my mental and physical health have improved, my relationships with others has improved, and I am living a much better life, which continues to improve. I'm in my 50's, but realize now that there is always hope, and it's never too late to find a better life beyond addiction. TKC was instrumental in helping me break free from the cycle of dependency.
