Gabriel Group Counseling, LLC uses an independent/outside billing company that has been in business since 1984. They are responsible for submitting claims to the patient’s insurance company and responsible for submitting bills to patients.
The process for billing is as follows: the claim is submitted by the billing company to the insurance company, the billing company receives a response from the insurance company, the billing company sends a statement to the patient. If the statement has a balance the billing company sends up to three statements to the patient and the last one will say ‘final notice’. If after receiving three statements over a three month period a patient does not respond, the billing company calls the patient. If the patient still does not respond the billing company informs Gabriel Group Counseling. GGC then reaches out to the client at least twice via text. If there is still no response from the patient the statement is sent to collections.
Please note that in the process outlined we are asking for a response from the patient and payment isn’t mentioned. We pride ourselves on working with patients who may be financially struggling.
Unfortunately, healthcare coverage can be very confusing and is not something someone wants to deal with when they are seeking help of any kind. However, it is the patient’s responsibility to understand his or her healthcare coverage.
