Good selection of movies, DVD's, music CD's, magazines and books. Free wifi. Use their computers and print stuff. Comfortable chairs. Near the high school, so prepare for shouting teenagers who pile in when school lets out. Two separate sections of the library cater to teens and small children, so there is some noise sometimes, but they are away from the main area. There are several private study rooms that are somewhat soundproof where you can sit in silence if you need to get away from the noisy kids, have a private meeting, or just be alone. There is a small room for eating/snacking with two vending machines. The librarians are helpful and polite. They often say, "Good morning." The place is kept clean. This is the second best library I have been to from here to Painesville. I have been to many libraries. The only ones that come close to being this nice are Westlake (which is the best), Downtown Cleveland (which is not really as safe) and Downtown Painesville (way east of here and also not as safe). Those are usually inhabited by patrons of questionable backgrounds, appearance and morality, which make those libraries less comfortable to be in. Just weirder people there who may or may not be criminals.
Updated Review 2021:
Standard Covid rules apply now. The rules have fluctuated accordingly, so call ahead to get any information on how to prepare for your great journey to the library.
I request books on line then when they come in I pick them up. Clean inside & plenty of CD'S & DVD'S. Great kids area.
Beautiful library with great staff! They have a wide variety of books, computers, and printer/fax machines (with ability to print via email which makes it very easy to walk in and pay for your print and go with a few quarters or a credit card as the machine takes both). There are lots of tables spread out throughout the library as well as a few quiet rooms if you want more of an isolated area to study/read. Beautiful little pond/fountain in the center with trickling water that gives off such a peaceful sound. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful to those who have questions or need help.
I love this library. Cute little crafts and gifts to take home. Very friendly and helpful staff even during the pandemic.
