Great trail across the street. A challenging hill and goid scenery. We usually see a horse or two as well.
If you get a chance to visit during maple sugar season, be sure to stop by.
The staff are friendly and informative. You'll appreciate you morning pancakes much more after learning how much work it is to make the syrup.
We also enjoyed some delightful French toast sticks from the food truck. Highly recommended!
Nice little picnic area close to the river. Catch the trail behind the pavilion to walk or play in the river. Across the parkway, pick up additional trails. Restrooms on site. One pavilion, plenty of picnic tables and grills and water fountain available.
The Maple Sugar Event lets us see firsthand how maple syrup is made. Then we sample it from the Metroparks food truck. Crispy French toast sticks and divinely sweet syrup. The event is well-run and social distancing is in place everywhere.
I have been visiting this park for years, and I have a lot of great memories here. Volleyball, swimming, outdoor grills, plenty of parking, paddle boats and a couple of steps away from here are plenty of hiking trails Don't forget to eat the "Honey ice cream" located in the Wallace Lake Cafe.
