Had a lengthy conversation with Dave today & he was friendly & courteous & did not rush me. He took the time to explain the benefits of a pre-owned unit DAL has for sale. I certainly hope to do future business, as they are based just west of Cleveland, Ohio & I am based out of Central Pennsylvania. Looking forward to a smooth transaction & the beginning of a great beneficial relationship. This world needs more knowledgeable & caring people like Dave. Thank you sir, for your time & candor.
DAK : )
I drop my receiver to him that was damage and before I got back home he called me back and said he had repaired it,wow I was impressed,it work like new, thank you Sir
I've had a pair of DAL Audio LM3875 chip amps for years. I have been shocked again & again at the far more expensive amps they beat. The latest was a highly-regarded audiophile 45 SET amp that costs $3000 new.
They will power almost anything, too - they do a great job even on my huge Quad 2905 ESLs.
I've been an audiophile (retail, wholesale, consultant, & consumer) since '71 Had it all, seen it all. Happened on DAL Audio by accident and called. I talked to Dave and ordered his "beginner" Retro Stereo 4780 amp. THE most amazing value for the money I have ever owned!!!! Beat amps costing 10X's the price! I had been a very loyal owner of a small So. S.F. Co.s products for the past 15 years, I didn't even hook up that amp again. It's so good it's like it's not even there. Meets the old Quad Acoustic Paradigm of "a straight wire with gain" (or at least as close as I ever heard.
If you are looking for "Bling" look elsewhere as these are plain like the old Dyna stereo 70's (which is where Dave got his star) They are high current and use a National Semiconductor 4780, Vishay resistors, Panasonic caps, and Dave's secret sauce of Mil Spec wiring. Had it for ove a year and it's now on loan to friend.
So after another experiment, I talked further to Dave and ordered a pair of Mono "Finale" amps w/upgrades (WBT connectors, Furutech IEC, Mil Spec switch and fuse holder, Naked foil Vishay resistors, Heavy duty Torroid (bigger than the stereo version) Same retro look (which I like, pretty industrial looking) I'm done with even considering any other amps.
They don't sound like tubes or solid state, but have a "rightness" about them that doesn't make you wish for more. Rated at 80 Watts but sound like a lot more. Priced out with mods at about 2.3K$ and worth every penny!!!! You won't be disappointed!~!!
Just wanted to share my experience with DALAUDIO. I ordered a chassis from Dave for a DIY project. When I received my order, Dave had thrown in some extras, free of charge, in his words, "in the spirit of DIY." Dave has since sent me an extra screw that I, through my own clumsiness, lost. I cannot tell you how impressed and grateful I am, both for the quality of what I purchased from DALAUDIO, but even more so in the service I have received from Dave. This is professionalism above and beyond. I give 5 stars only because I can't give 6!
