O'Shaughnessy Nature Preserve

Went stand up paddle boarding here for the first time and I plan to make this my new regular spot. Lots of great places to access on and off the reservoir. There was a stand up paddle board yoga class on the water as well. Plenty of parking.

Note: Google maps tried to have us park on a road and walk through the woods to the ramp for accessing the water. Just had to keep going north on Dublin Rd and turn in at the sign for the preserve.

When they open the dam Gates completely it is a amazing sight. It is a extremely strong force of water that is not to be messed with so please watch your young ones around the water and do not try to get in a barrel and see if you can make it down because you probably will succeed and I want to be the first one to do it I highly encourage everybody to go visit this place I give it a 10 out of 10 Stars not many trails but it's a sight to see you for sure and the fishing is superb

This preserve always feels a million miles from town yet is just a jaunt from the Columbus Zoo. I take out my inflatable boat here regularly. It is quiet and filled with large wading birds. Stars shine brightly at night and it is one of the last places near Columbus to see elusive glowworms at night.

Little hikes to be had. Trails aren't super well groomed - bring your boots. Lots of folks put in kayaks and other small craft. Nature to observe and enjoy. Not sure how the fishing is, but the Heron seem well fed.😁

A gem of a natural habitat tucked into the northern Dublin area. Lots of paths cutting through the woods that don't feel like you're barging through habitats, but also the preserve isn't overly managed. Lots of birds, including at least two pairs of Great Blue Herons that hang out in the shallow water.
