I came to Willow Brook at Delaware Run eleven years ago. It is one of the best decisions I ever made. I was looking for a welcoming community. I can’t image a more friendly, open and interesting group of people. They have led remarkable lives. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual rather than formal. The activities' range (when we are not hindered by COVID restrictions) is broad, now including courses offered through the Ohio Wesleyan University Lifelong Learning Program. The campus is beautiful with a pond, lots of trees, flowers in season, walking paths, and is wonderfully maintained. You’ll all understand the importance of this statement: I feel I am home.
The administration, staff and aides are exceptional at Delaware Run. My husband has been a resident there for 3 months. Residents are cared for by dedicated individuals who are friendly and promptly attend to various needs. We would highly recommend Willow Brook at Delaware Run.
First off, my family had a recent crisis where I needed to get immediate respite care for my dad. The team at Willow Brook-Delaware Run provided immediate assistance for my sisters and me as we sorted through some tough times. The administrative team worked wonders, acting fast, in getting dad admitted and the nursing team took dad in with loving arms. He ate very well and the aides served him well. It was the best 16 days of temporary care that dad has ever received.
Secondly, I have served on staff at Willow Brook for several years and am grateful to work for such an amazing organization. It’s not only rewarding professionally but with the above experience with my dad, I’m proud of how our teams serve, on a personal level.
Mine and my wife's initial reaction to the Assisted Living area at Willow Brook at Delaware Run was quite positive. We were warmly greeted and shown to a respite room that would be my wife's home while she `recovered from knee surgery. However, during the several week she was in Assisted Living's care, our opinions climbed ever higher. It was comforting to see warm and genuine smiles on the faces of the nurses and aides and the ever-present words of encouragement -- "Looking good Nola" or "Way to go Nola" -- that were voiced as we passed them during the many walks we took to rehabilitate her knee.
One day, both my wife and I will probably reach a point where we will be unable to care for ourselves. While we hope such a time lies far in our future, it is comforting to both of us to know what a high level of expertise, care and support awaits us in the Assisted Living area of Willow Brook at Delaware Run.
