The Old Vermilion Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast

The Old Vermilion Jailhouse is completely unique and completely charming. We stayed overnight after dinner at Chez Francois. If you are a couple or a family of four, this would be a cool place to stay. While not a traditional B&B, hosts Markos and Marla provide a well-stocked mini-fridge, and they have a lot of supplies in the bathroom, including earplugs. The Jailhouse is right next to railroad tracks, but I didn't find it overly loud. Markos was great to work with and we can't wait to come back in warmer weather!

This place is absolute gem and a special gift for anyone who chooses to stay is the creatively stunning space it’s owners have created 🌟 There is a story behind ever detail…just ask and they are happy to share. We arrived to mood music playing in the spacious library suite we stayed in. We were in awe of our surroundings which were spectacular. It was apparent how much care was put into creating the space and the mood to ensure a unique experience, unlike any other. Our room was immaculately clean. Any and every toiletry you could possibly need was available in the event anything was forgotten. The room was fully stocked with all sorts of goodies for our pleasure. We enjoyed sitting at our private bar, having intimate discussions on the leather sofa, and ultimately retiring to our comfy beds. The service was exceptional. The town of Vermillion is an adorable place to explore and enjoy. I highly recommend the Old Vermillion Jailhouse for your stay. I promise you that it will be unlike any other. This is a very unique place to stay. Better than any jail I've ever been in. Super comfortable and every need has been thought of. From the fully stocked refrigerator to any personal items that could possibly have been forgotten, it's provided. There are even jail related costumes in the armoire.
If there were higher ratings available, I would have used those.

What a creative way to enjoy being in Jail! This old jail converted to a B&B was a delightful experience. Authentic jail from 1906 was updated and made comfortable for a downtown stay in beautiful Vermilion Ohio. Put this place on your bucket list. It may cost you to get in to jail but you will enjoy your stay and get out of jail free!
