“The museum is run by volunteers. The depot was most interesting. The train ride was short and sweet. I understand the weeds grow up around the tracks, but the majority of the area was overgrown. There are weak places in the floor of the cars we toured. The train parts were not organized or marked for display. Rather these items are strewn along and the weeds cover quite a lot of what might be catalogued and displayed. The box cars have been vandalized. One of the out buildings had a new roof. It would be wonderful if someone with the knowledge could write a grant and use that for the major improvements that are needed to perserve the history of the railway.”

“My family made the decision to move my husband into Kemper House during the pandemic. I have greatly appreciated the staff at Kemper House. Every person I interact with on the phone, window visits, and in-person visits, knows my husband and is able to tell stories about him. This says a lot to me, that even the kitchen and maintenance staff personally are involved enough with the residents to know him so well. I also love the daily involvement of Greg (co-owner).
