Really lovely apartments and clubhouse/pool area. Great new renter specials for phase 2 of the complex. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable!

So far so good! Let me preface with a few things first:

    - I have not moved in yet but I have applied.
    - I’ve lived in Gahanna/New Albany area apartments for the past 8 years.
    - I’ve researched basically every apartment complex in the Columbus area.
    - I’ve lived in Albany Glen, The LC, Clifton Park and Chestnut Hill apartments. (AG & CP I moved in when brand new).

With all of that said, I have a lot of experience with apartment living and I come with a lot of questions and comparisons. Apartment hunting alone is very difficult especially while trusting that they will be honest with you.

From my experience living in the area, I know specific questions to ask to ensure that I know what I’m getting into so I have a checklist of requirements that an apartment needs before I even consider a tour and HQ has checked all of my preliminary boxes.

    - Regulated utilities: This means absolutely no third party electric, gas or water companies. The LC uses third party companies and my utilities were inhumane. They were upwards $300 without heavy usage. They also group your usage with other units in the building and they divide it up and there your payment.

    - HQ has a flat rate for water and trash. Enough said.

    - I have not physically been through the clubhouse due to COVID-19 restrictions but building and the pool look phenomenal and the updates that Sean shared with me sound even more exciting.

    - I don’t have pets and I don’t mind them, but knowing that I don’t have to worry about stepping in poop bombs is comforting. I’ve also had a harassment issue with a neighbor leaving poop in front of my door while at Albany Glen and they were able to track down who was doing it by the dog DNA. Enough said.

    - Their unit prices don’t fluctuate daily like other surrounding apartment complexes. What you see is what you get. So far, from our understanding, there are no hidden fees that we have to worry about.

Overall I’m an easy going but very particular person and Taylor and Sean at HQ answered every one of my question and I had an entire list. And they didn’t sound flippant in their answers where I felt like they had something to hide. I feel like touring and applying to HQ was a great decision after considering many high end apartments from downtown to Old Towne East to Polaris to Westerville/New Albany.

I’m excited to hopefully get my approval soon and to get moved in.

And another thing...it’s an apartment, there will be noise. Third floor is something to look into. I will update once I’ve experienced living on the property for a while.

Update: We ended up moving in and it was all that we expected it to be. We loved it enough to renew the lease. The community is great, very quiet, cordial community members, it’s seriously your typical apartment living but without the nonsense. There will always be a normal amount of noise wherever you go because that’s what comes with living in an apartment but I can’t directly hear conversations like I have in other places, and my neighbors don’t live a wild and crazy life (thankfully). Everyone here seems to be on the same path - hard working and chill. This is by far my favorite neighborhood that I’ve lived in and it will be the last, until we move into our house.

I have loved it here at HQ! Been here now for over 2 years! I have moved to different apartments around the complex, and they have always been nice. The staff were very helpful too. Sean in particular has helped me the most, along with manager Shelly. The pool here is awesome! One of the best in the city, and so far these have been the best apartments I have ever lived in!
    Check them out

    Updating my last review.

I have really enjoyed living here. It's a great space.
I still highly recommend living on the top floor unit, however the thin walls noise complaint is something that I have now found to be extremely common in most apartments.

We lived at HQ Flats for just over a year and loved it! Apartment was brand new and no one had lived in it before us, which we loved and really had no issues. Walls are a little thin so keep that in mind, but overall the complex is quiet. Maintenance is quick although there’s not much to fix yet since it’s new!
My 5 stars really goes to the office staff, ESPECIALLY Cheryl and Sean. We were in limbo with our lease as we were not sure when a potential job offer for my fiancé was happening due to the pandemic. We had given up the lease and they went above and beyond to get our apartment back for us to live in 2 more months and were VERY patient with us and the last minute decisions we needed to make. It worked out for us with the job and we are very grateful that they worked with us to make a difficult transition a little easier! We have also had to have mail picked up after our move out and they have gone out of their way to gather and keep it safe for us. A great staff goes a long way and we wish we could have transported the apartments to our new home!
