“I attended Ridge for all four years yes we have ups and downs like all high schools but you will not find a high school with faculty better then this one with the stereotypes facing young black men and the area where the school is located the teachers took that in and still gave 100% focus and help to the students regardless if the students wanted it or not i remember missing days of school only to get calls from my teachers telling me to get up and get here now lol they were more then just teachers of education they helped with life situations and troubles Walnut Ridge is a great school with caring and loving faculty which has made a great transformation in my four years there and I am proud of the faculty and Mr.Walker and im proud to call myself a Scot Alumni. “I was there long ago from kindergarten through first grade before my family moved (2004) to different area and public school. We were taught how to navigate Windows PC, learn about sign language, and they have Spanish classes. I apparently was writing Spanish signs to the Mexican workers of our first house in Reynoldsburg from the Spanish I knew! Like don't walk through house with shoes etc. They have church next door and kindergarten in the back parking lot. Back then when I transferred to Granville 2nd grade, Granville did not have early spanish, computer classes, etc. At comparison (fyi in General Granville is a good school district) Granville schools didn't have type classes and Microsoft program navigation till like 5th or 6th and you type one haiku in 3rd. 3rd more projects starting 4th.Things could have changed but who knows.”

I love how personal the school feels, how caring the teachers are and they really teach a curriculum. You are ALWAYS welcomed to speak with teachers and staff. It's well secured with a buzz in system, and cameras. My son has been here for 3 years and I wouldn't change a thing. I'm hoping they add the 8th grade so he can transition into high school from here.”

“We had been "church shopping" for about 2 years since moving to the Columbus area. Shepherd Nazarene attracted us for several reasons: -They have an awesome kids and youth ministry. This was an important piece when trying different churches because we had one little girl and knew we'd have more kids later. Now we have two and have been pleased with their little church community so far. The older youth appear to be active and invested. It seems like Shepherd offers a variety of experiences for all ages. -All of the staff and other church members/attenders have always been very friendly. The lead pastor was extremely personable during each of our initial visits (and continues to be). -We really like all of the community involvement. -There are neat events too that provide a variety of worship experiences. Overall, we can't be more pleased that we were led to visit Shepherd. We hope you'll visit too and also fall in love!”
