(October 8, 2022, 3:05 pm)Great place to spend a weekend with friends. The place we rented (16851) was huge and easily accommodated 8 adults - 5 different families. We could fit more! The grounds were smaller than expected. The pond and hot tub had a bit to be desired. Included plenty of TVs for a sports viewing weekend and also has a theater room - not used.
The owner was very personable and down to earth. The cost was very reasonable for the size of the place.
(May 31, 2022, 7:08 pm)The property is a little weird and confusing to navigate. You have to drive through the owner's driveway between their house and their garage to get to the cabins.
I absolutely loved our cabin, which sits at the end of a little trail. You have to park at the beginning of said trail and walk down to the cabin. There's a wagon for you to use in case you didn't bring your own. There's also a cool fire pit area beside the trail.
We did have a couple of minor issues with the cabin. The hot tub wouldn't stay hot unless we kept the cover on. The ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms was squeaky, like squeaky enough to be annoying. There was a crock pot in the cupboard that disappointingly didn't work (I left a note). And the cooking surface kicked a breaker when we turned on both buners.
The owner interacted with us twice, and both times he seemed very concerned about us leaving. I told him the cabin was great and his response was, "When you're ready to leave, just drive away." Later, he stopped by to get our trash and asked us what time we would be checking out. So, that was a little off putting.
I saw a lot of other reviews complaining about the insects, but it's a cabin in the woods. I mean, you kind of expect insects to be a thing. I didn't really find it to be a problem, but I do actually like insects. We were visited by a gorgeous luna moth and we saw a few big neat spiders. So if that's a problem for you, maybe skip this one.
Over all, I think the Trail cabin is great for the cost and there were no real major issues.
(May 22, 2022, 8:36 am)It was EPIC!! Everything we needed was at our fingers tips. The surrounding area was Hocking hills. It doesn't get much better then Cassady's for cabin stays in Hocking hills. We were by everything very close!!. Hot tub. Lake for fishing in the back yard. Plenty of sleeping room. Pool table....camp fire area.....100% will be back. Thanks Cassady's!!! Epic rentals!!!
