Woodland Legacy - Hospitality by Katy

I need to share a little bit about my story! I decided late in the year to compete for Mrs. Ohio which is held in Mount Vernon every year. Because I was a bit late to the game it was hard for me to find a hotel in the area (plus there was a wedding going on that took up all the room blocks) I managed to get one night at the grand hotel (which was where the competition was being held) but I wasn’t able to secure the second night. Through my booking, they set me up in the super 8, which was the only thing available in 20 miles, so.. I had to take it!

After checking in to the grand hotel, the group of ladies at the front we’re looking out for my safety and told me, they absolutely could not sleep knowing I would be staying there and started working hard on finding me a much better and safer option… I am extremely grateful! This is where angel Katy steps in! She over heard everyone trying to help me out and stepped in, offering her Woodland space. I was a bit nervous because I had never stayed in an “airbnb” type house that was attached to someone’s home. But let me tell you!!!!! It’s Amazing.

When you pull up, the back portion of the home is completely private and faces the woods, there is your own patio with a fireplace and grill. Walking in, I couldn’t believe my eyes, everything was perfect!!!! I can tell you I felt like we walked into a vacation home for the night. Katy had crumble cookies waiting for us, gorgeous cupcakes & custom wine glasses with a bottle of wine. I had told her my husband was coming to stay with me as well and it was out anniversary. This was such a welcoming and “over the top” gift she had left for us! The bathroom (as well as the entire place) is spotless with a few needed toilet items! Katy truly put every detail into this. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels in my life and never have we felt the hospitality & thoughtfulness as when we stayed here.

We WILL be back and I can’t wait!! If you are looking in the area, you will not find a better place to stay than at Woodland Legacy!!

I’ve been using Airbnb for several years now. I have stayed places where I’ve wondered how I would possibly cook in a “furnished kitchen” that didn’t have a pot or pan. This place is the exact opposite. Anything you could possibly want, anything you might need… They have it! They have thought of any and every thing to make you comfortable and are extremely accommodating! The entire experience was so relaxing for our family, we will definitely be staying again! If you’re wondering about staying here, let me just tell you that you want to.

My husband I stayed here for a weekend. We looked for hotels in the area and didn't have much luck, and I just happened to find Woodland Legacy. This place was amazing! So many personal touches and CLEAN! Katy was the perfect host. We take a trip to the area yearly and will be making this our #1 choice of places to stay from here on out. No more hotels for us!

Woodland legacy is a perfect, serine and magical place. Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Katy provides everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and amazing retreat. She also makes the most delicious cupcakes and cookies! The outside patio is most definitely my favorite spot. Beautiful wooded views and a bonus visit from the furry residents completely makes you feel right at home.

I stayed here for a little over a week and can’t say enough good things about this place. The hosts were fantastic, very accommodating but totally respected my privacy and need for some peace and quiet. The place was the perfect size, a really nice living room to sit and relax in, along side a full-service kitchen with everything that you would need for any length of stay. The large screen TV in both the living room and the bedroom are a fantastic touch. The queen size bed was super comfortable, just an overall really nice setting for the whole experience. With the warm and friendly decor, all the amenities that you need, and the private entrance - it really does feel like a home away from home. I will stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it, well worth the cost.
