I was fortunate to participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in late 2020. The format was 100% virtual which made the meetings much more convenient to attend and the counselor was able to create an authentic atmosphere that supported everybody in the group. It was an opportunity to learn about alcoholism as a disease, build a community of people fighting the addiction, and learn important tools to support a successful recovery. I recently celebrated 6 months of sobriety and owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Hazelden Betty Ford for providing access to a program that changed my life for the better.

8 plus years ago I entered the intensive outpatient program and had the best experience. I have not had a drop to drink since then. They push you to look at yourself and take responsibility for your actions. Sometimes this push is viewed negatively by patients but bottom line is you're there for a reason. They teach you how to live a good life without substances and how to be a good person. Being successful in any treatment program requires people to really want to be clean and sober, Hazelden just gives you solid support and the right tools to be successful.
