Glen and his son came to my 90 year old mother's house within 20 minutes after her call. He fixed the issue shortly after arriving. Roto Rooter had been there the day before for 5 hours and couldn't fix it. Next time call Turnbull first time.
I had a leaking water heater. They were able to make a last minute appointment for the following morning. Craig was so professional and took the time to explain what he needed to do to get everything replaced and fixed. Everyone I spoke with was very courteous and genuinely wanting to help. As a single woman, I am always concerned that people will try to take advantage. At no point did I feel this way. They were true to the quote I was initially given. I totally will recommend them to friends and family.
-6 below in Oberlin & guess what, NO WATER in the house. Checked the cellar & plenty warm down there so what's the problem?? Called Geisel & explained the problem & he said he's have someone get back to me...never happened! Called Turnbull & talked to Robyn & she said Glen would be out in an hour or so & then there he was, right on time. He checked out the basement & decided it was something outside. Remember -6f. I thought it might be that the main might not be buried deep enough & froze but Glen went out to check things out & found that the cap on the street shut off was missing & that he couldn't get the shut off tool down the access, so he called the city water dept. & they came out but couldn't do anything either. I suggested pouring a cup of gasoline down the hole & lighting it but that didn't go over very well w the crew??? I then remembered that when I worked, filming in foundries, that they had these long blow torches that might do the job but where to find a foundry?? I then remembered that most cities used torches like that to melt tar on the streets so I suggested that they contact the street dept & see if they could get one, to hopefully melt the ice 5' under ground??
So they drove off & I thought that I was left to deal with no water for 4 days until it warmed. Being sick of no water, I started calling Asphalt places to see if I could get a torch, no luck as they were all in Florida for the Winter! After a few hours I called the water dept. to see what was going on & talked to Dennis & he told me that Glen said he was out looking for something to put down the access to melt the ice. We got to chatting & I mentioned the Blow Torch thing & he said that the water dept. had them at one time, to melt frozen fire hydrants but he hadn't seen any in 10 years! {Climate Change} So I hung up with him & then called the Fire Dept. thinking that they must have them but no luck. {don't ever have a house fire in sub zero weather around here] Anyway I found them at Harbor Freight for like $19.99 so I called the water dept. back to let them know, so, I maybe could get my water back, if that was really the problem?? Anyway he said that they had just found one & were on there way to give it a try. As I was hanging up, I saw Glen & the Water Dept. truck pull up. Well they got out the torch, [a real beater that looked like it hadn't been used in 20 years] & fired it up & put it down the hole. Twenty mins. later, the water started to flow like it never did before, so I went outside & screamed at Glen & John who were keeping warm in the truck that it was a job well done, Super COLD but that it was working!! BRAVO!!!
So if your looking for a guy that doesn't give up, even when it's minus 25f windchill, Glen Turnbull is your man!!! Thanks Glen!!!
