Very nice. Clean. Peaceful. Scenic. Swimming kayaking probably even som snorkeling could be done. Water is fairly clear, definitely not Markey or muddy. Could see bottom from dock about 4ft down. Several islands.

While we enjoyed the 5 mile loop trail, it's definitely not for beginners. The trail is more for intermediate to experienced hikers. It is well marked but has some serious steep elevation chenges, the smaller 1/2 mile trail might be better suited for beginners.

Was quiet and peaceful set up a nice fire and just hung out with my wife for a few hours. Would go back again with just us or would be fun with a group.

It's a nice park to fish. A Good few places around the lake to fish

A.W. Marion State Park Campground aka Hargus Lake by the locals. Park is close to town, but far enough away to get some peace and quiet. Hiking trails were well maintained, clear and not to strenuous. Campground is on the backside of the lake. Looks like they have and are upgrading areas within park (site pads, new playground, And dam). Very clean, small, no showers, and 1/2 the sites are electric, no water and no full hookup at any sites. There is one loop where all sites are electric only. If possible get an outside site to get yourself a little privacy and a bit more room. Electric sites we marked, should we visit again: 35, 36, 39, 45, 47, 51, and 59. Would be easy sites to back our 34’ TT into.
