A warm, welcoming temple that holds Wed & Sunday services. Wednesdays are more focused on meditation, and Sunday is more family-friendly and even has a dharma school for kids during the meditation period. Very welcoming to newcomers, as I was in 2015. The Buddhist Temple of Toledo has been an incredible source of spiritual friendship and community. Where else can you find lineage-holding zen teachers leading deep sesshin, right alongside family friendly Sunday services? The decision to stop merely reading about Buddhism and to actually come to a service has changed the course of my life for the better in ways I never thought possible.

I've really enjoyed being a member of this Zen Community. There is excellent Zen training as well as a strong sense of community. Standing services are Wednesday evening (7:15pm doors open, services start at 7:30pm) and Sunday morning (10:30am doors open, services start at 11am). Wed night has more sitting meditation, whereas Sunday has more of a family feel, with children welcome. Newcomers are welcome at either service. This place is an important part of my life!
