We had a fantastic Friday night dinner here. We started off with the fried green tomatos, which I was a little iffy about ordering just because it's not something I'd normally get, but we were so glad we did. They were so crispy, and the toppings were delicious. For dinner, I had steak with polenta (substitution for potatoes) and brussel sprouts. Personally, I very rarely order steak out just because I love the way my former chef husband cooks it that no where compares, but I gave it a try and it was SO GOOD. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly with a delicious compound butter. The polenta was also perfectly cooked, so creamy and cheesy; best I've ever had and I really love polenta. I had the special coconut drink and a blueberry (?) martini. We had creme brulee. Everything honestly was just perfect. I love patronizing locally own establishments, and this one is fantastic. The atmosphere, food, and service are amazing. We don't get to go out often but we'll definitely be back!
Plat8 hosted our wedding and I could write a book on how amazing and perfect they made the entire day! Jonathan and the entire staff went above and beyond for us from all the help with planning, the amazing food to the perfectly crafted cocktails. We received endless compliments from our guests! We cannot recommend Plat8 enough.
Overall was a fun time. The server was pretty unattentive at the beginning of our dinner, but she got better at the end. The food was okay. Didn't like the steak tip appetizer we had, might have been the gorgonzola cheese was too stinky for me. I liked the duck noodle soup I got, but it was a little too salty like they had put too much soy sauce in. But it was plated beautifully. The creme brulee was a mixed bag, the custard underneath was angelic but the caramelized topping was a little too cloyingly sweet for me. My favorite thing was the prickly pear martini, it was a shocking pink color and tasted great!
We tried Plat8 for the first time tonight as part of Restaurant Week. Every time we've wanted to come, is always on a Sunday and they are closed both Sunday and Monday. Tonight we ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, however, everything except dessert, can be found on their regular menu. We started off with an order of Fried Green Tomatoes which were crisp on the outside and just the right amount of tart from the tomatoes. For our main entrees, my partner had the braised short rib over polenta, which he said was tender and had great flavor. I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi and grilled chicken. Usually, I am not a huge fan of grilled chicken dishes, but this one knocked it out of the park! It was smothered in a feta cream sauce and topped with candied nuts. The balance of sweet and savory on my taste buds was perfect and the chicken breast had a nice seared crust on the outside, yet was juicy on the inside. Dessert was special to the Restaurant Week menu and was impressive with a strong cup of espresso to pour over the mug of chocolate and caramel drizzled vanilla ice cream. My only complaint is that I could have eaten an entire dessert on my own rather than sharing, lol! The staff was friendly and our server was efficient and super-nice! Everyone was adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. Reservations are suggested, which can be done easily online.
