My mom and I visited on a Thursday. It was lovely to get the tour. We loved it. Beautiful!
Update: The Shrine continues to be a place of peace and an opportunity for grace to envelope the visitors. Feeling lonely or depressed? Come visit Jesus in the tabernacle, the Saint’s in the reliquaries and be filled with hope and joy. They now have a bake shop every Friday!
Stunning architecture and deep wooden interiors will please any wanderer. Immersion into a chapel with relics from 850 saints, mostly first class, brings a rush of hope to all the weary and a pounce of joy to everyone who enters. They are always hosting events to excite your Faith journey and you can be assured of a gentle, evangelizing experience for those who are still seeking. The Catholic gift shop is the best in Ohio. I dare you to find a better one.
The relics were amazing, the museum was well put together, and the staff was friendly. The only downside is the altar in the area of the people when there is a perfectly good area within the sanctuary for an altar that conforms to the norms of the Second Vatican council
Update March 2023. Went for daily Mass, and the priest forgot the words of consecration. Slightly disheartening
Tranquil place great for personal meditation and reflection. Don't forget to put in your prayer requests, we have have a lot of answered prayers, healing and blessings received from our trip to the Holy Relic Shrine.
You could consider this chapel “in the middle of nowhere”, between raunchy farmland smells and flat rows of crop land. It’s a spiritual oasis. Immaculate. When I wanna be “somewhere else”, even outside of myself and the daily grind. It’s indeed a privilege to come here and be lost in the peace and presence of God to regenerate my spirit. History is plentiful with much info to be gathered during a visit.
