For anyone dealing with court ordered residential treatment it's a emotional rollercoaster on one hand you cant stand your child not being at home on the other hand you have all these things they have done to get them in treatment. It's been 246 long days but because this program is behavior based we have made great progress in not only his behavior but also in our relationship thanks to the weekly family therapy. I feel like I'm playing catch up sometimes but I get updated on everything at least once a week usually within 24 hours of an incident and monthly we have team meetings with his whole care team (probation officers, counselors, medical staff, case manager, and teaching staff). While its not an ideal situation its a great program that has played a vital role in the progress my son is making. For anyone facing the difficult situation of placement I hope this helps and it does get better.
