Grant Park

Really nice, interesting trails with a lot of relief/elevation change, and creek access. Several inclines with steps installed, a few bridges, a short boardwalk, and a prairie trail with wildflowers, and a pond. There's also a wetland with an observation deck, a picnic area, and a few benches and tables throughout the trail system.

So many trails, great terrain, cute art, only flaw is the trail markers which could be better.

One of our favorite places for creeking. They have lots of trails for hiking, walking, or trail running. I find them to be a little more technical in spots and can be wet no matter the weather. Lots of shade though and usually a deer sighting or two. The parking at Normandy can be a mess when school is in session so that is something to be aware of.

Nice park for local hiking. The paths are not as wide or well maintained as some of the other parks and the area (within an hour drive) but still a decent Park to visit. This is a frequent Park used by the local schools and camps so you may find lots of kids in and around the parking lot. Make sure you wear decent shoes for those you can get money as the path does not tend to drain well. Watch your step as there are a lot of roots and paths are narrow.
